Learn the words.
Then prove them.

505,172 graded words in 6 languages, ten at a time, through short puzzles. Then live duels against real people: same questions, same clock, a rating that means something. Free.

Three steps, every day

Learning and competing feed each other: what you study shows up in your games, and what you miss in a game becomes your next review.

  1. 1

    Learn

Pick your level. Each unit is ten words: match them, then answer each one twice, by meaning, sound and spelling. Chinese adds tones and characters, Japanese kana.

  2. 2

    Duel

Play a live game against someone at your level. Four clocks from 3 to 12 seconds, games from 5 to 100 questions.

  3. 3

    Review

Every word you miss goes into your deck and comes back right before you'd forget it. Words from your games too.

From your first word up

Every language has its own levels. English: No levels: ten collections, every item rated. Every item has its own difficulty rating, from how common it is, and it moves as people answer it.

Ratings you can trust

Everyone starts at 1200

No placement test. Your first rated games set your rating, and new players move faster until it settles.

Speed and Classic

Fast games (3 to 5 seconds) and thoughtful ones (8 to 12) are different skills, so they have separate ratings.

Built to be fair

Both players get the same questions, and the clock starts when you can see the question. Strong players can't farm easy levels for rating.
