This page explains what SLM stores, who can see it, and why. Short version: we keep what the app needs to work, we don't show ads, and we don't sell your data.

What we store

  • Account: your email and a secure password hash, or the sign-in provider you chose.
  • Profile: your name, photo if you add one, and school if you add one.
  • Learning: the words in your review deck and how well you know each one, plus your daily goal.
  • Games: each game's questions, answers, timing, result and rating changes.
  • Social: who you follow and befriend, your posts, teams, communities and messages, including photos you send.
  • Settings: theme and game preferences. Some are kept only on your device.

Who can see it

  • Everyone: your name, photo, school, ratings, game history, game reviews, posts, and the teams you're in.
  • Members only: messages, which only the people in that chat can read.
  • Only you: your email, your review deck and your settings.

What we don't do

  • No ads, and no ad tracking.
  • We don't sell or rent your data.
  • We don't record your voice. Audio in lessons only plays sound.

Where it's kept

The database, sign-in and file storage are hosted by Supabase. The app itself is hosted by Vercel. They process data only to run those services for us.

Guests

If you use SLM without an account, your progress is saved in your browser on that device. When you create an account, it moves into your account.

Your choices

  • You can change your name, photo and school in your profile at any time.
  • You can delete your own posts and unsend your messages.
  • To get a copy of your data or to delete your account, send a request through Send feedback in your profile settings.

Changes

If this page changes, the date at the top changes too.
